Hiltje (Hilly) Adams

December 5, 1926 -  December 24, 2022

Passed away peacefully in her sleep on Christmas Eve morning at Sunrise of Mississauga in her 97th year. Predeceased by her husbands Donald Gladden (1978) and Maurice Adams (1995) and her sister Reina Piersma (2009). Survived by her son Garry Gladden (Barbara), step sons Anthony (Rosalie), Father James and Jerome (Ellen), grandchildren Sara and Andrew Gladden and 13 step grandchildren.
She was born in Holland and lived through WW2 as a teenager in occupied Holland. She came to Canada as a Canadian war bride in 1946 where she lived for the rest of her life. She lived in her own home until she was 94. As per her request, there will be no funeral and cremation has already taken place. The family asks you to join us in remembering Hiltje on January 14th from 2 - 4 p.m. at a drop-in reception at The Simple Alternative, 1535 South Gateway Road (Mississauga.
The family wishes to thank the Staff of Sunrise of Mississauga for the care she received while she lived with you. Her quality of life was much improved due to your care. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation, in her name, to a charity of your choice.

Our deepest condolences to you all during this difficult time. Hiltje was a very special lady who brought joy into our grandfathers' life. She greeted everyone with the biggest smile and a warm hug. We are grateful to have known her may she now rest in peace.
