In memory of
Henry Shou Hong Yee 倪少鴻
November 16, 1924 -
March 3, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father Henry Shou Hong Yee on March 3, 2024 at the age of 99 in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
Raised by farmer parents in rural China, he knew the importance of education and became a school teacher in a single classroom school in the village. As a young man he was drafted into the army and thankfully the war ended just as he graduated his training. As he worked hard and helped with his father's business, he saved up enough money and approached the local matchmaker to match him with the local beauty. They were married on March 14, 1954. They worked hard to make a living in China and Myanmar, surviving multiple wars and eventually immigrated to Canada in search of a better life for the family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patsy; children, Alan (Laura), Latitia (Harold) of US, Lunsu (Alan) of US, Jenny (James), Helen (Paul), and Alex (Tuong); grandchildren, Cherry, Monique, Samantha, Theodore, Samuel, Timothy, Samuel, Thomas, Addison, Eric and Jaclyn; great grandchildren Isaan and Kaia.
We will be dedicating a memorial plaque for him at Chamshan Temple in Thornhill, Ontario. If you would like to contribute towards the purchase of the memorial plaque please e-transfer to ( HenryYee1924@GMail.com )
Thank you.
