In memory of

Henry John Robin Hammonds

January 30, 1934 -  December 30, 2024

Robin passed away peacefully at Seven Oaks Long Term Care on Monday, December 30th.

Robin is survived by his brother Richard (Heather), children Deborah (Bob), Caroline (Gary), Peter (Donna), Michael (Elori), and Timothy (Josephine), 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren in Britain. In Canada he is survived by his loving wife Joan, stepdaughters Michele (Tony) and Julie (Ted) and 4 grandchildren. Robin will be sadly missed by all of us. Robin had wonderful memories of his childhood and adult life in Britain which his friends could all attest to. They heard many stories of Hereford. In 1978 he moved to Canada with his company Thorn EMI and enjoyed life here too, with many, many holidays back to Britain. As a young man he loved rowing, played cricket and football and in later years, golf. In Canada he also taught himself piano, enjoyed Dixieland music and played in the Trackside Jazz Band for many years. In 2020 Robin suffered a debilitating stroke and became a resident at Seven Oaks Long Term Care. We want to thank the 3rd floor staff for their compassion and caring.

A graveside service and reception for family and friends will be held at a later date.

Joan,
I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of Robin. Love sent to you. And to Michele & Julie. Thinking about you all.

To his family in the UK:
From a stranger to you - Robin always provided such smile-inducing moments in time. I mean with that personality how could he not?!? I am so very sorry for the loss of your father, brother, grandfather & friend.
