In memory of

Henry Baroi

November 27, 1952 -  November 29, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Henry Pankaj Baroi, who left us peacefully at home on November 29, 2024, at the age of 72, in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada.

Henry was born on November 27, 1952, in Barishal, Bangladesh, to Sumala and Sukumar Baroi. As the youngest of eight siblings—five brothers and three sisters—he grew up in a family filled with love and support. His life was characterized by his dedication to both his family and his work, and his legacy will forever be remembered by those who knew him.

Henry graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Dhaka University, and over the course of his career, he made significant contributions as a Finance Manager for World Vision, working for more than two decades in countries across the globe. His work with World Vision was a testament to his commitment to improving the lives of others. He later moved to Canada, where he lived and worked for more than 25 years.

Later in life, Henry found a new calling as a counsellor at Alpha House, where he worked for over 15 years, providing guidance and support to many. His compassionate nature and deep understanding of people made him a valued mentor and friend to countless individuals.

An accomplished author, Henry wrote several books, including his recent autobiography, Chaad, which reflected his life’s journey, struggles, and triumphs. He had a profound love for literature, Rabindra sangeet, writing, travelling and photography. These passions brought him joy throughout his life, and his creativity and intellectual spirit left a lasting impact on everyone around him.

Henry is survived by his cherished children, daughter Laura, son Louie, son-in-law Nahid, and his adoring grandchildren, Norah and Riaan. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather who found immense pride in his family. His legacy of kindness, wisdom, and creative spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

A funeral and burial service will be held on December 7th, 2024 to honor Henry’s life and remarkable contributions. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in his honor.

May Henry’s soul rest in peace, and may his remarkable life continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Funeral and Burial service will be live streamed at: https://youtube.com/live/3Blxfg9Vmvs?feature=share
