MCDONALD, Hélène Cécile (nee Desrochers)
Peacefully and with her loving sister by her side, Hélène died on June 10, 2022 at the The Rekai Centre during her 85th year. Predeceased by her husband John Daniel, she will be lovingly remembered by her stepsons Daniel (Mary), Brad, and niece Chantal (Michael) whom she helped raise. Born in Penetanguishene, Ontario, Hélène attended the University of Toronto. She became a French Teacher and taught at various schools with the majority of her career spent at Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute. Hélène will be deeply missed by her brother Martin (Betty) and sister, Anne-Marie. Hélène leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Hélène loved to travel, to be a lifelong scholar, and to be of service to her faith and church. Most of all she loved spending every summer on the shores of Georgian Bay with her family. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on June 20, 2022 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 24 Cheritan Ave., Toronto, ON with a reception to follow immediately afterwards. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed through Blessed Sacrament Church. In lieu of flowers, donations would be graciously accepted at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul or Diabetes Canada. So sorry to learn of Helene’s death.

I often think of when I was sitting in their room and I would ask Betty something - Helene would answer which would make us laugh. Mom would say “who’s speaking?”
