In memory of

Helen Koszonits

May 18, 1942 -  January 3, 2024

It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Koszonits on January 3, 2024. Helen slipped away peacefully with her two children at her side, leaving behind son Peter, daughter Eva (Frank), and grandchildren Monica, James, Carter, Emily, and Brigitte. Born in Csorna, Hungary on May 18, 1942, Helen had retired from CIBC, thereafter volunteering her time to serve her church. While a devoted and loyal friend to many, Helen was first and foremost an endlessly loving wife, mother, and grandmother. The memory of her smile and kindness will brighten all of our lives forever.

A funeral mass will be held at 11am on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary RC Church. Visitation will begin at 10:30am, internment will follow at York Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to St. Elizabeth of Hungary RC Church.

Ili was a warm, caring and a lovely friend. We spent days together at Erika’s farmhouse and Kati’s cottage for many years. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren. She was a good cook and a warm host when we got together playing cards at each other’s houses.
We know God will welcome her into heaven.

We are saddened to hear of Helens' passing. We first met when she became our advisor at CIBC and in later years, we moved into the same building.
She had a smile that could light up the room and a very gentle manner. A beautiful lady.
She will be missed. May the wonderful memories of your mother bring you a measure of comfort at this time and may she rest in peace.

Dear Peter, Eva, Frank and all the families, On behalf of the Shibata family, we offer our deepest condolences on the passing of your mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. Helen was so easy to be around with her kindness and calm nature. I always had the utmost respect for her love of family and devotion to her church and god.
It will be sad to say goodbye but be comforted that she can reunite with her loving husband. (Imre & Ilike forever).
