In memory of

Helen Bachmann

January 22, 1934 -  April 8, 2022

Helen passed peacefully in her sleep on April 8th, 2022, in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Born on January 22nd, 1934, in Montreal, to Borbála (née Hornyak) and Imre Boszák, she spent most of her childhood in Hungary through WWII before resettling in Montreal. There, she met her beloved husband Károly who escaped during the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. Together they raised their only daughter Helen as proud members of the Montreal Hungarian Community. Later in life, Helen moved to Belgium but ultimately spent her senior years in Mississauga.

Helen was a kind, gentle, and selfless soul full of love. Helen was deeply religious and a devout Catholic. She loved to knit, crochet, cook, bake, and read. Most of all, Helen was devoted to her two granddaughters, helping to raise them while living with her daughter and son-in-law for over twenty-five years.

Helen is survived by her daughter Helen Bachmann, son-in-law Michael Hudon, and granddaughters Kristin and Stefanie Hudon. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Károly (Charlie) Bachmann and her brother Imre (James) Boszák.

Helen has been returned to her Heavenly Home. She will be greatly missed here on Earth. Helen’s life will be celebrated privately with immediate family.

If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada would be appreciated.
