Heinz Joachim Piorkowski

June 15, 1937 -  October 4, 2018

Heinz Joachim Piorkowski, 81 passed away peacefully on October 4, 2018 in the care of Milton District Hospital.

Heinz is survived by his two sons, Michael and his wife Raquel of Milton Ontario, Mark and his wife Kerrie of Brisbane Australia together with their daughters Sasha and Amelia. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Margaret, and his loving wife Patricia Mary Piorkowski in 2002.

Mr. Heinz Piorkowski was born on June 15th 1937 in Berlin where following the deaths of his parents pursued technical training in electronics emigrated from Germany. On arrival in Canada in the late 1950’s he embarked on a new life that was rich in experience that included service in the US as a military policeman, as an electrician building houses in Ottawa and working in Vancouver. Heinz found his way to Toronto in the late 1960’s where he met his loving wife Patricia Mary Souliere after which they moved to Brampton in the mid 1970’s where they raised their family. Heinz was a hard worker that provided for his family completing 30 years at Spar Aerospace focused on complex jet instrumentation. He was loving father and dedicated husband that cared for Patricia during her extended illness who was loved by the people in his life as a quiet, gentle and caring soul with a subtle, clever sense of humour.

Memorial services will be held on October 10th at the Meadowvale Funeral Centre 7732 Mavis Rd in Brampton. Friends and family attending the service are requested to arrive at 3pm. Heinz will be laid to rest with his wife Patricia in North Bay at a later date in mid-2019.

We enjoyed visits from Heinz and Pat, showing them attractions in the area. Heinz was the quiet one as Pat never gave him the chance to butt in. I'll always remember how dedicated he was in caring for Pat especially as her illness was coming to the end. Mark and Mike, you could never have had a more loving father and I was more than happy to have had Heinz in the family.
