On Saturday November 18, 2017 in his 79th year Harvey (Harve) Sokoloff passed away peacefully. Harve was predeceased by his dear parents, Max and Sarah Sokoloff nee Glickman and sister Anita Sokoloff. Harve was a loving father to son Paul and a treasured grandfather to Shane, Cassandra, and Adrian. Harve will be fondly remembered by his sisters Eleanor Cohen and Jai Cole and brother in law Bruce and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and his devoted lifelong friends. Harve was an avid cyclist and enjoyed hikes and camping. He was a zealous advocate for his Arcadia community and often reached out to local politicians for better zoning and bylaws. His great loves were stage acting, song circles and a variety of community events. He spent much of his free time writing poetry, short stories and screenplays. A special thank you to the caring staff at Revera Forest Hill Place and most recently at Valleyview Advent long term care. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to the charity of your choice to carry on the tradition of advocating for the betterment of society, a passion of Harve’s.
A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held with a gathering at 2:30 pm on Sunday November 26th , at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Funeral Center, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto Ontario

My condolences to Harvey's family. We were friends during and after high school and even lived together for a brief while. One of our common interests was the folk music of the 1950s. Our paths diverged and we lost touch. I am so sorry to learn of his passing.
