In memory of

Kirk Dale Harrison

May 3, 1937 -  September 27, 2019

In lieu of flowers, donations in Kirk's memory can be made to the following charities:

1. Victoria's Quilts Canada at www.victoriasquiltscanada.com

Kirk was a recipient of a custom, handmade quilt. His quilt was lovingly made by volunteers at the Ottawa Branch and will be displayed during the funeral visitation. This charitable institution is a non-profit organization that relies on community donations and the kindness of volunteers who artfully design and sew quilts. Quilts can be requested for Canadians living with cancer. Their mission statement states "by providing these quilts, we hope to bring physical comfort to those dealing with cancer, as well as spiritual comfort in knowing that they are not alone in their struggle."

2. Colorectal Cancer at: www.colorectalcancercanada.com

We would greatly appreciate if you would share any stories or fond memories of Kirk using the online Guest Book. We look forward to reading each and every post. Many thanks.

Memories of my friend Kirk Harrison

Kirk had so many good stories and memories
. I especially enjoyed hearing about when he
was growing up in Valleyfield, Quebec and
playing hockey for the Montréal Canadiens
farm team.
. It was very interesting to learn about the
early days of the computer industry and how
he wrote a compiler/conversion software
program while he was at the University of
McGill.
. It was fun to learn about the 1960’s from Kirk
Wink wink (These stories are no longer
politically appropriate today) Sorry!
Kirk was most definitely a joker and a Captain Kirk character
. I remember hiring Kirk back in 1992 while I
was working at the Dufferin Game Room
Store. He was exactly the right type of employee
with a particular skill set. At the time I was
working open to close at the store. He came
into my life at exactly the right time.
. Kirk and I always liked to joke around and
play practical jokes on each other.
Here’s a sample of them…
. Me - Glue coins to the floor outside of
the store at Fairview Mall &
watch people try to pick them
up.
. Kirk - Throw super balls out of the store
and try to scare the kissing teens away.
Once a ball landed in a mans coffee cup.
. Me - Fill up the behind the counter area with
balloons.
. Kirk - Cover the behind the counter area with
smooth and slippery store bags. Guess
who took the fall? Me! I was fine.

Kirk was an excellent friend, mentor and teacher. He gave me plenty of career and relationship advice. Thank you Kirk!
