Grace Dadson (nee Gracia Mizrahi)
March 8, 1948 – February 18, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Grace Dadson, aged 76, on Tuesday, February 18th, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Grace was born in Skopje, Macedonia, on March 8, 1948, to Albert and Milka Mizrahi. In the aftermath of the war, she and her family relocated to Israel for a period of time before immigrating to Canada. They traveled aboard a ship from England, arriving at Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and ultimately settled in Toronto after briefly living in Moosonee, with her mother's great uncle.

A passionate educator, Grace devoted much of her life to teaching. In the 1970s, she began her career with the Toronto Board of Education, where she later became a vice principal. Throughout her career, she impacted the lives of countless students and colleagues, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the world of education.

In addition to her work in education, Grace dedicated over 20 years of her life to volunteering with Tennis Canada. Her tireless commitment to the sport, her enthusiasm, and her love for the tennis community made her an invaluable asset and her contributions to the organization will be forever remembered.

Grace was an avid lover of games and recreation, enjoying many hours playing mahjong, pickleball, and traveling with friends and family. She enjoyed playing Mario Kart with her grandnieces. She was a vibrant spirit whose zest for life touched everyone she met.

She is survived by her loving family, including her nieces Louise and Melanie Celap, her grandnieces Madison and Makayla, and her brother-in-law Milan Celap. She is predeceased by her mother Milka Mizrahi, her father, Albert Mizrahi, and her sister Reina Celap (nee Mizrahi) She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Grace’s life will be held at York Cemetery, 160 Beecroft Road, Toronto, ON where friends and family are invited to share in the memories of a remarkable woman.

Grace’s kindness, dedication, and joy for life will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

My condolences to all of Grace's friends and family. I started at Tennis Canada with Grace many years ago, and we shared many laughs and good times together at the tournament every year. I will miss her friendly greeting in the lounge and her sitting down with us to chat and catch up on the daily happenings while we had lunch. Rest in peace my friend.
