In memory of

Gordon Shafer

April 27, 1950 -  November 30, 2019

“Today I am golfing.”
SHAFER, Gordon Ross, 69, passed away peacefully in the early morning of November 30th, 2019 at the Ian Anderson House Hospice after a short battle with cancer.
Gord a long-time resident of Streetsville, Ontario may be remembered for his quick wit and slap-stick sense of humour. He was an avid golfer, a bus driver for St. Judes Academy, a member of the Streetsville Mixed Bowling League, a volunteer coach for Streetsville Girl’s Baseball and Hockey Leagues (1970’s), a gas jockey at Zardo’s Esso, a delivery driver, a small poultry business owner on Roncesvalles Ave. Toronto, a golf course groundskeeper for Derrydale Golf Course along with many other endeavours. Gord never missed a Bread and Honey Festival so it is likely you saw him at the parade, beer tent or his favourite pancake breakfast. He enjoyed family vacations in Europe, the Caribbean and Canada, and especially the family cruise.
Gord a proud father and grandfather, born on April 27, 1950 in Toronto leaves behind two daughters Jennie (Jay) Davis, Sherie (Wayne) Shafer; five grandchildren: Liam, Teagan, Jordan, Maya, Elisha, one sister Lorna Schlosser and a special girlfriend Carol Ann McCleary. Predeceased by wife Susie (Dona Cormier), parents Glenn and Ann Shafer, brother Gary, sisters Glenna Felton, Valerie Wojick and Linda Shafer.
We are having a reception following the service at Chuck’s Roadhouse 6465 Millcreek Drive, Mississauga for a bite or a drink in his honour.

So sorry to hear about Gord's passing.
Fond memories of working with Gord over the past 3 years.
Truly a gentle caring person with a wonderful sense of humour.
He would tell me stories about the fun times he would have every winter in Cuba
