In memory of

Goap Joan Chung 楊玉女

April 27, 1924 -  May 28, 2024

Ms Goap Joan Chung (née Young), (鍾楊玉女) of Markham, Ontario, Canada, passed away on May 28, 2024. She was born on April 27, 1924, on James Island, BC. She was 100 years old plus 1 month to be exact on the day of her passing. Ms Chung, known for her love of origami, knitting, and crafts, also enjoyed traveling in her younger days up until her mid 80’s. She was a very capable and independent woman. Hardworking and was very caring towards all her family members. In the last 1 ½ years, she also enjoyed writing out Scriptures, reading Scriptures, listening to Cantonese worship songs, colouring books, and playing a coloring app on the Ipad. Mentally, she was still very alert and active as you can see even close to 100 years at the time. She was preceded in death by her husband, and two daughters. She is survived by 4 children, 13 grandchildren and 12 (plus one on the way) great grandchildren. She was loved by many and was especially loved by God through Jesus Christ, her Lord and Saviour. She has been blessed with immeasurably more than we could ever ask for or imagine. Praise God for His mercy and grace.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Ms Chung's life will be held at:
Pine Hills Funeral Centre, 625 Birchmount Rd, Scarborough, Ontario, Canada.
Date of Service: June 7/2024.
Room: St Clair Suite
Public Visitation: 10-11 am.
Service: 11 am – 12 pm
Burial to follow at Pine Hills Cemetery.

We ask in lieu of flowers and money, please direct your donations to an organization of your choice, or to a church of your choice or to Heart and Stroke Foundation. Thank you.

May she rest in peace in the loving arms of our great Lord Jesus forever and ever, Amen.

We had the privilege of knowing Ms Chung for a brief time. We learned that she had lived a remarkable life filled with love and wisdom. As a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was blessed with God's provisions. At 100 years old, she leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished for generations to come. Though she is no longer with us, we take comfort in knowing that she has found peace in the presence of our Creator.
