Obituary:

Gloria Roberts, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, great-aunt, sister-in-law, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 17th, 2025, in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

Born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, on September 29th, 1942, Gloria lived a life marked by grace, strength, and deep devotion to her family and her faith.

Beloved daughter of Angelina and David, and wife to Dennis, Gloria is survived by her children, Shirleen and Garvin, and is reunited in heaven with her son, Curtis. She will be deeply missed by her siblings, Errol, Maureen, Terrence, Mahalia, and Michelle, and lovingly remembered alongside her late brothers, Steve and Gregory. She was a proud grandmother to Nicholas, Justin, Shezley, and Christin.

She was also a cherished sister-in-law to Sandra, Allison, Wayne, Mark, Jean, Alston, Sharon, Richard, Alwyn, Hyacinthe, Randolph, and Lincoln. She was a beloved aunt to Jason, Jabari, Jawanza, Rae, Summer, Timothy, Jean-Paul, Jean-Pierre, Kevin, Melissa, Christopher, Shanelle, Shantel, Candace, Simone, Geddes, Ishier, Joshua, Randall, Roxanne, Sherwin, Tessa, Sheldon, Cory, Lorraine, Stacey, Allistair, and Kurt. Gloria was mother-in-law to Joel and Christine, as well as godmother to Linda and others, who held a special place in her heart.

Gloria built a distinguished career in accounting, serving faithfully for 41 years with the Ministry of Finance in the Treasury Division, and retiring as Acting Comptroller of Accounts. Her mind remained bright and curious throughout her life. Even in her final days, she spent time reading, absorbing history and politics, and delighting in learning something new. Her love of music and singing lives on through her children and grandchildren, whose voices carry forward the joy she shared with them.

Above all, Gloria will be remembered for her unwavering faith in Christ. She read the Word daily, prayed earnestly, and lifted her family before Jesus with steadfast love. She was an active member of her church community in Trinidad at West End Christian Fellowship. Her quiet strength, kindness, and warmth were constant in the lives of everyone who knew her. She was a loving mother, a devoted wife, and a faithful friend. Gloria was always ready to support, comfort, and nurture those she loved, and she was truly grateful for those who continued to lift her up in prayer and offer her true love and friendship while in Canada.

Gloria cherished her adopted home of Canada, finding beauty and peace in the changing seasons. It feels fitting that she passed during the cold season she loved so dearly.
