In memory of

Glenn Richard McKay

May 12, 1956 -  July 29, 2022

McKay, Glenn Richard: May 12, 1956 – July 29, 2022
Beloved son of Patricia Anne (nee Auld) and William Richard (Deceased) . Loving father of Trish, Paige, and Gordon McKay. Loving brother of Peter (Kathy) and Cameron (Beth). Beloved Uncle to Brian, Laura, Daniel, and Andrew. Glenn was an avid racer starting at an early age with Go Karting, placing well in races on the Ontario Kart Racing Circuit in 1973. Glenn joined CASC (Ontario Region) and BARC in 1992. Glenn raced in Minden Hills Fairgrounds Ice Racing for many winters, often with his children riding with him. He raced in the Vintage Class at Mosport in his British Royale. Glenn found much success and enjoyment in racing. He was an avid Indy Fan, attending the Montreal Grand Prix and the Honda Indy in Toronto, as well as the Indianapolis 500 with his friends and family. Glenn was a licensed carpenter with a gifted attention to detail. He took great pride in the McKay family cottage that was built with friends and family, starting from a treed lot to a beautiful summer home. He was also very interested in film photography and music.
The last 4 – 5 years of Glenn`s life was not easy for him, he developed neuropathy which is painful and debilitating leading to further issues. Sixty-six is too young to pass, however for Glenn too painful to stay. Rest in peace dear Glenn! The family would like to thank all the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff on the 3rd floor of North York General Hospital who during these difficult times did their very best to help Glenn. In lieu of flowers please forward any donations to the NYGH Building fund. Glenn will be interred at Pine Hills Cemetery, and a Celebration of Life will follow at a later date.

To my brother Glenn
As I have thought back on our lives I realized there were many good memories that I will keep. I am sorry for your illness and struggles over the past few years. I will always remember when we spoke how cheerful you were. I am saddened by your passing and will miss you. I pray you are at peace. Love you.
