ROBINSON, Glen Allen
1939 - 2018

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Brampton Civic Hospital in Brampton, Ontario in his 79th year with his family by his side. Dearly loved husband of Annette (Cutrara) Robinson; much loved father of Angie (Wally) Meneray, Mark (Angelina) and Christina (Piero) Robinson; proud and beloved grandpa to William, James, Rebecca, Thomas, Alexander, Mattea, Dominic and Jacob. Dear brother-in-law and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Glen’s lifetime work was as a lithographer, and he worked his way up from “floor boy” at the age of 15 to First Pressman on a computerized multi-colour press over a career that spanned 50 years in the same industry. From labels to maps to hockey cards, his career represented the best in printed graphic arts.
In retirement, he continued his hobby of preparing gourmet meals, always making sure there was more than enough to share with anyone lucky enough to stop by his kitchen or backyard smoker. He had happy times fishing on the Trent River with a succession of dogs, and also spent some busy days working at LVG Auctions in the great outdoors. He researched military and family history over the internet, listened to country and military band music, and told many stories to his grandchildren about his own grandparents and early Toronto days.
To celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, Glen made the trip of a lifetime to Ireland with Annette, his much loved “lady in red”. As he sang his way through the days there—quite unusual for a quiet man—he was overwhelmed at times that at last he was visiting the home of his ancestors.
Glen was a man of few words, but the thoughts he shared were clear, concise, and often mixed with a wry sense of humour reflected in the twinkle of his blue eyes.
He was greatly loved and respected, and will be missed by all those who knew him.
