Playford, Gladys Ruby

Gladys "Ruby" Playford nee' Newland, passed peacefully on January 28, 2021 just shy of her 98th birthday. Ruby immigrated to Canada from England after meeting the love of her life, John G. Playford (Predeceased), Corporal RCASC during WW11. Together, they raised three children, Sandra, Bradley and Brian (Debra) in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Ruby was the manageress of a store in Richmond Hill for many years. She loved spending time in Sauble Beach where John built them a beautiful cottage. Later, they spent time together with Brian, Deb and the kids at the cottage on Lake Erie. She took great pride in her two grandchildren Melissa
(Andrew) and David and just missed meeting her great-granddaughter, Mia. She leaves behind a large extended family in England. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Willows Estate in Aurora, Ontario for the many years of wonderful care they provided to our Nan.
