It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Mother Gisele Lapointe (nee DeGrace) on May 7, 2023, in her 91st year at Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital in Toronto. Predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Fernand Lapointe (2004). She was a caring and devoted mother to Marcel, Ginette (Reg) and Daniel. Loving Nana/Grandma to Neil and Ryan (Ginette) and August (Daniel). Loving Great Nana to Madison and Olivia (Neil and Vanessa) Blake, Carter and Austin (Ryan and Katie). She will be greatly missed by her niece Claire (DeGrasse), brother Claude (DeGrasse) and sister-in-law Monique as well as the Lapointe family in QC, Rosaline, Fernande, Monique (Jean-Marc), Pierre (Cecile), Jean-Yves (Edmonde), Jean-Marc (Diane) and Jacques (Jacinthe). She was born and raised in Maria, QC where she began her career as a Home Economics Teacher before moving to Toronto on January 6, 1953. She loved music, cooking, dining out, the great outdoors, travelling, sewing and knitting. At 65, became a “Guardian Angel” knitting bonnets and booties for newborns in need. At 80, became a volunteer at Bendale Acres, visiting French speaking patients, serving tea and sharing stories with them about their heritage.
