In memory of

Gisèle Bikowski (née St-Germain)

January 3, 1957 -  August 12, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gisèle Bikowski on August 12th, 2023 at Sunnybrook Hospital. She was a true fighter from the very beginning and continued to be throughout her life. Diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at the age of 11 followed by a few organ transplants, she showed nothing but determination and the will to live. She is a role model for strength and courage. She never quit and always fought to remain a present person in her family’s lives.

Gisèle will be forever missed by her loving husband and best friend Louis, her proud daughter Melissa (Steven) and her much loved grandchildren Lucy and James. She was the most caring and loving of grandmamans who loved to spend time doting on them.

The youngest of 8 children, Gisèle is predeceased by her parents Lucille and Hormidas St-Germain and by her siblings Marielle, André and Claudette. She will be remembered fondly by her living siblings Jeannine St-Germain, Gaëtan St-Germain, Claude St-Germain and Jean-Guy St-Germain. As well as by her mother-in-law Jeanne Bikowski, brother in-law Richard Bikowski and sister in-law Isabelle Bikowski. An aunt to many, Gisèle will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

Gisèle enjoyed her daily walks with Louis and their 3pm coffees. She was an avid traveller as a young adult and she knew how to enjoy a good glass of wine with cheese. She was kind and caring, she will be remembered for her magical smile and infectious laugh. Her ability to always liven up a party and her never ending positive attitude. She was such a bright and loving person who always made you feel welcomed.

Cremation has taken place along with a small private family gathering. To honour Gisèle please consider giving the gift of life by becoming an organ donor.
