In memory of

Gisela Neitzert

May 14, 1933 -  October 17, 2019

Our dear wife, mother and grandmother Gisela Neitzert passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 17, 2019, at the Margaret Bahen hospice after bravely battling cancer. Gisela is survived by her beloved husband Fred Neitzert. She was a loving mother to Frank, Monica, Robert (deceased), Christina, and Tanya. She cherished and nurtured her grandchildren Daniel, Ehren, Oliver, Charlotte, Rachel, Mia, Nicholas and Chloé. Her family, as well as her many friends, colleagues and clients will deeply miss her.

Gisela was a social worker whose compassion and support touched many. With incredible drive and work ethic, Gisela had tireless energy for work, church volunteering, outdoor activities, camping, spending time at her serene cottage, taking special care of her son Robert, and having fun with and supporting her husband, children and grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed for her determined spirit, her love of nature, canoeing, music and symphony performances, church, and her profound love for her family, her passion for life, and deep empathy.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 11am at the Christ the King Lutheran Church, 149 Bay Thorn Dr, Thornhill, ON L3T 3V2

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Margaret Bahen Hospice myhospice.ca or cancer.ca.

Our hearts go out to the entire Neitzert family. Although we didn’t really know Gisela well, we have heard many stories of her love of family and friends. Christine has that same determination when it comes to her family and friends. Just one of the many traits I am sure you and your brother and sisters have received from your mother. Christine, Martin and the entire family we send our condolences.

Where do I start? Gisela will be missed. Over the 43 years I've known Gisela she has been a constant support in my life. As a colleague, supervisor and dear friend. We shared the joys and sorrows in our lives with empathy and unconditional love.
