In memory of

Ginette Lantaigne

September 22, 1946 -  July 2, 2016

Ginette left us July 2, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer, happy in the belief that she would be free to be reunited with family, her pals and former acquaintances. At her request, cremation and a private service have taken place. She is predeceased by her mother "Mrs. G" (Ken), her favorite older brother John and sister Pierrette. Ginette leaves her husband and best friend, Taylor, her step-son Chris (Heidi) and her step-daughter Kara Klamerus (Jakub). She is survived by her other best friend and brother Gil (Alexis), her nephew Jamie, her sister-in-law Carole and her children Michelle, Patrick, Gerry, Chris, David, and their children and grandchildren. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ruth Bothern for her years of support and care and to Dr. Rachel Wortzman and staff (Palliative Care Unit, Sunnybrook). Consideration of donations to The War Amps or the Palliative Care Unit c/o The Sunnybrook Foundation would be appreciated.

Ginette and I were friends in public school at Williamson Road PS when we were about 10/11 years old. I can't remember why we lost touch - perhaps she moved away - but it has been about 60 years since we last spoke. However, I recognized her name instantly and when I saw her picture, thought I could see the young girl I once knew. I am so sorry to know that she has died and we will never meet again. I offer my sincere condolences to her family and wish you all the best in the future. Barbara Higgs

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. We did not know she was sick, she kept that a secret from me. Ginette was a big part of my early years in Canada, when we shared a rooming house with several other friends. A good time was had by all of us many times.
We stayed in touch through thr years, mostly by cards, e-mails, and sometimes by telephone, and each time it was as if we had never been separated. She was a lot of fun, had a great sense of humour.
Taylor, my heart is breaking for you.
I know one thing for sure, she was so very happy with you, and her years with you are the happiest she has ever been.
I will keep you in my thoughts and heart.
Ann Thibodeau.
