Gilda Pereira (nee de Melo). Peacefully on Tuesday January 29th, 2019, at the age of 85. Devoted wife of Hermano for 65 years. Mother of Judy Teixeira (Norberto); Grandmother of Marvin and Michelle Teixeira; and Great Grandmother of Spencer and Hannah Teixeira. Dear Sister of the late Evaristo de Melo, the late Maria Soares and the late Manuel de Melo. She will be remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Gilda was born in Relva, São Miguel, Azores and immigrated to Canada in 1966. She was known for her commitment to her faith and is now in the eternal hands of God. Family and friends are invited to Mount Pleasant Cemetery and Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, on Monday February 4, 2019. Visitation will take place from 12-2pm, with the funeral service to follow.
