Passed away peacefully on December 16, 2022 at the age of 91. Loving father to Kathleen (Steven Banton) and John (Ingeborg Verwoerdt). Beloved grandfather to his namesake Gibson. Predeceased by his loving spouse Lila Larson and brother Edward.

Gib was full of spirit and adventure with a wicked sense of humour.

From Civitan Club Little League hockey coach, to Queen City Yacht Club member, to director of the Dirty Dozen Ski Group, his was a life well lived.

Gib's love of the snow was equalled only by his love of the sun, especially travelling to Caribbean locations.

Gib skied until age 80 and sailed his boat until age 85. Gib's career in insurance started in 1956 and lasted 63 successful years.

Gib was a true gentleman with old-fashioned manners, charisma and a flirtatious twinkle in his eyes.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 12th, 2023 from 1-3 p.m. at York Funeral Centre. A light lunch will be served. "no tie required"
