In memory of

Gianoula Mplaras

November 1, 1953 -  February 21, 2021

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Gianoula (Ginny) Mplaras on February 21, 2021, at the age of 67. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Ginny is survived by her loving father George Mplaras; dear sisters Vassie (Don) Lumley and Diana (Steve) MacDonald; nephew Larry (Cindy) Ellerton, nieces Christina Ellerton and Eleni MacDonald (Jordan Shaw); and her great-nephew and niece, Nicholas and Lauren Ellerton. She has been reunited with her mother, brother, and grandparents.

Born in Vevis, Florina, Greece to Helen (Eleni) and George Mplaras in 1953, she immigrated to Canada at the age of 6 with her family. Ginny excelled in all aspects of her life; whether it be academics or sports - Ginny could do it all. She loved to travel and took many trips with her family and friends. She was a perfect fit for her career as a legal secretary, applying her detail-oriented nature to every file that hit her desk. After retirement, Ginny continued to care for her father with the utmost compassion.

She touched the lives of many with her vibrant personality, enormous heart, and immense love for her family. She never missed a beat in the lives of her nieces and nephew treating them as children of her own. She will be forever missed and always remembered.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to North York General Hospital and the Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the amazing staff at North York General Hospital for providing Ginny with comfort in her final days.

Due to government restrictions, the complete service is by invitation only.
