Gian Kaur Dhami

July 25, 1922 -  January 7, 2017

Mrs. Gian Kaur Dhami, 94, of Mississauga, Ontario, formerly of London, UK, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2017, at Mississauga Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She is predeceased by her late husband, Jaswant Singh Dhami (founding president of Indian Workers Association of Southall, UK).

She is survived by her two daughters, Jagdish Kaur (Sadhu S.) Rai, Kewal Kaur (Kuldeep S.) Deol; son, Sukhminder Singh (late Nirmal K.) Dhami; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Gian Kaur will be remembered for her strength, compassion, generosity, and leadership. As the family matriarch, her advice and guidance were sought by family and friends, and her calm and loving nature made her home a central gathering place for all.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at Meadowvale Cremation and Funeral Centre, 7732 Mavis Road, Brampton, L6Y 5L5, followed by prayers at 3:00 pm at Ontario Khalsa Darbar, 7080 Dixie Road, Mississauga, ON.
