In memory of

Gerassimos Rouchotas

June 15, 1945 -  August 7, 2016

Gerassimos Rouchotas, Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family passed away on August 7, 2016 at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Sophia. Devoted and cherished father of Andrew and his wife Erin, Philip and his wife Heidi and his youngest son John. Adored grandfather to Katryna Sophia and Sophia Helen. Forever missed by his loving brothers Vlasi, Dimitri and Haralambos and devoted sister Eleni and their families. He was born on June 15, 1945 in Kefalonia Greece in the village of Dematora to loving parents Andreas and Eleni Rouchotas. He left for Athens in his teens to pursue his education in electrical engineering and met his loving bride Sophia. Soon after graduation they immigrated to Canada and began their life in Toronto. Gerassimos, with all his brilliance and extraordinary work ethic, became an entrepreneur at a very early age and established a successful business that would last over 3 decades. His devotion to providing for his family and the pursuit to giving them an improved life with better opportunities for his children drove his success. The core tenants he fought so hard to live by; resilience, strength, character and discipline, were passed on to his three sons and will forever live on in his legacy. For many years he spent the time he had outside of work primarily around two things; first supporting his children's extracurricular activities and seeing them flourish, and second, he put his heart into his beautiful gardens. Gerassimos and his beloved wife Sofia together raised a strong and healthy family and he has spent his lifetime enjoying them. His last role as Papou became his most cherished.

Our sincerest condolences to the Rouchotas family. Gerry was Stefan Ngo's soccer coach for many years but he was more than just the usual coach. He was a lively character, a wonderful example of hardwork and dedication. He was the perfect example to these young men of what hard work can accomplish. He will be very fondly remembered by all the players he coached and their parents. God bless Gerry!

To Gerry who I knew for 9 years. A true gentleman and a man whose word was his handshake. You are one of those people that I was lucky enough to have known that whenever I met or had a conversation with you, no matter how short I always came away having learnt something or being the richer for your nugets of wisdom.
To Sophia, Andrew, Philip and John and all extended family, I am deeply sorry for your loss and hope you may find comfort and strength of heart through the strong character, resilliance and fair mindedness that embodied Gerry.
