In memory of

Gerald Kent Hawkshaw

October 5, 1946 -  December 25, 2016

After a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer Gerald (Gerry) Kent Hawkshaw passed away at Kensington Hospice on Sunday, December 25, 2016. Lovingly surrounded by his wife and daughters. Loving husband of Karen, of 25 years. Cherished father of daughters, Lori Murphy and Lisa Richardson (Josh). Caring and proud grandfather of Maximilien, Mackenzie and Rylie. Loving brother to sister Beverley Wood. Greatly missed by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. His greatest joys included spending time with family and friends, both here and in Florida. He had a passion for cooking and golfing. He was also very interested in politics and medical research. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Kensington Hospice for their care and compassion; as well as to the Sinai Health System palliative home care team.

Family and friends will be received at Pine Hills Cemetery and Visitation Centre (625 Birchmount Rd., north of St. Clair Ave. E., Scarborough, 416-267-8229) on Monday, January 2, 2017. Visitation from 1-2 pm; A Memorial Service will then be held in the Pine Hills Chapel at 2 pm. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kensington Hospice.

Gerry was a very interesting and knowledgeable person who had the ability to make each individual feel special. He will be missed but remembered with a smile and warm heart. He also has the best spontaneous wit that left all present laughing.

Gerry, Linda and I will miss you dearly. You were a great friend to us even though we only new each other for a few years. Your smile and sense of humor always kept us laughing. I will especially miss golfing with you in Naples and having a drink after our round. I will think of you every time I golf. RIP my good friend.

Gerald I am so sorry you had to endure so much pain and discomfort, you certainly didn't deserve the suffering. You had so much to live for and taken from us too soon. I miss you bro, you will always be in my heart and thoughts.

Your family also will miss you, now you are our angel and watching over everyone, as you always do.

Never forget how much I love you, little brother. Until we meet again.
