April 27, 1942 -  January 31, 2018

Passed away peacefully at Fairview Lodge – Whitby on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Sharon. Loving father of Ginette (John Maguire). Cherished grandpa of Victoria Summers and David Summers. Much loved brother of Margaret Wray. Predeceased by his 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Jerry was known for his love of his Dodge Ram Truck and was the proud and dedicated owner of Jerry’s Snow Plowing and Lawn Care. The family would like to thank the staff at Fairview Lodge – Whitby for the kindness, compassion and respect shown to Jerry over the course of his long struggle. A funeral service will be held at THORNTON CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off of Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787) on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 12 pm with visitation one hour prior and a reception to follow. . In memory of Jerry, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Dear Sharon, Ginette, Victoria & David,

My deepest condolences for the loss of a one-of-a-kind man. Though he often put on a tough exterior, he was full of care, whether it was checking in on his mother regularly, or buying his employees lunch regularly, he was generous and thoughtful.
I hope your many great memories bring you comfort at the times you need it most.
