And yet there are no laws of physics which prevent us from visiting the copies of our worlds and peering at ourselves — the copies of ourselves — as they go about their day. Perhaps some day wormholes or faster-than-light travel will grant us a more intimate look not only at reality itself, but at our own lives.

Maybe Carmen's sweet mother did not die. Maybe there are other copies of her in the marvelous universe or parallel universes. Until we get to know this deep mystery, we only have the memories of the departed, including that of their love for us, and our still burning love for them.
