In memory of

George Tudos

August 16, 1935 -  March 17, 2024

On March 17, 2024, with his family at his side, George Tudos passed away peacefully at North York General hospital at the age of 88.

George, a loving and devoted husband of 60 years to Lillian, will be remembered and missed by his daughters Jessica (Jeremy), and Vanessa (Brian), by his grandchildren Aidan and Sebastian, his sisters Judit, and Julia (Kalman), and sister-in-law Fabiola. He is predeceased by his brother Peter (2013). His nieces and nephews, Susan (Nikos), Laszlo (Carol), Ildiko (predeceased), Thomas (Kriszta), Kristina (Steve), George (Amy), and Erik (Genevieve) will fondly remember him.

Born in Hungary in 1935 to Julia Tunyogi Szücs and Laszlo Tudos, George and his family moved to Colombia in 1956, where he met Lillian. After travelling the world as flight attendants, they settled in Canada, with George’s immediate family following soon after.

In Toronto, George co-owned Modern Trend Interiors furniture store before switching careers and joining the art-based family business, Nature’s Scene.

His love for tennis spanned over 60 years, many of which were spent at Mayfair East & Parkway Tennis Clubs.

As a passionate Toronto Maple Leafs fan, and one-time season ticket holder, you always knew what George was doing on Saturday nights.

His desire to bring family together resulted in many fun pool parties, backyard barbecues, and fun activities with his precious grandchildren.

Please join us on:
Saturday, March 23, 2024 at York Cemetery and Funeral Centre; 160 Beecroft Road, Toronto, ON M2N 5Z5 at 2:00 pm, for his memorial service.

So saddened by the news. I fondly remember the wonderful family celebrations (Christmas, Easter, birthdays etc) that we spent with Gyuri & Lillian when I was young. He was such a kind man and fun to talk to. I can still hear his voice giving me advice and trying to figure out my adventurous spirit and life choices. Being so far away my thoughts are with my family. Love you all.
