In Loving Memory of
George Traikos
February 18, 1965 – July 15, 2026

With profound sadness and immense love, we announce the passing of George Traikos, who passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.

George was born on February 18, 1965, in Kelli, Florina, Greece, to his loving parents, Theodoros and Evangelia Traikos. George leaves behind his loving parents, common-law partner Ann Brown, brother and sister-in-law Vassilios (Bill) and Filomena, sister and brother-in-law Avgoula (Donna) and Fabio, nephews, nieces, stepdaughter, and step-grandchildren.

George truly enjoyed spending time with his family. Whether attending family gatherings, working on projects with his stepdaughter, teaching his step-grandchildren the fundamentals of life—such as tying their shoelaces, riding a bike, or building and fixing things—or simply sitting together sharing stories and life experiences, these moments brought him immense joy and comfort.

As a young man raised in downtown Toronto before relocating to Scarborough, George developed a passion for riding and customizing bicycles, always finding ways to make them look even better than when they were first purchased. He earned the nickname “The Catwalk (Wheelie) Kid,” as few could hold a wheelie for as long as he could. George also loved playing baseball and participated in both fastball and softball leagues, where he excelled as both a pitcher and a batter. His passion for the game inspired his younger brother to join him, giving George the perfect partner to pitch to and hit with.

George was a hardworking individual with a sharp artistic eye and a commitment to excellence in his work as a contractor. Throughout his life, he completed countless painting, flooring, basement finishing, fencing, and deck-building projects. He took great pride in helping others improve their homes, generously sharing his knowledge, guidance, and craftsmanship to ensure every project was done right.

George also loved listening to music, attending concerts featuring his favorite artists, enjoying local street festivals, and watching sporting events with his family and friends. These moments brought him happiness and created lasting memories with those he loved.

George will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and friends. Though he is no longer with us, he will continue to live on in our hearts, our memories, the stories we share, and the love he gave throughout his life.

As we say goodbye, we find comfort in knowing George was welcomed with open arms and warm smiles at the gates of Heaven by his grandparents, George and Aspasia Traikos, and Anilas and Evdoxia Romas.
