In memory of

George Tataris

June 15, 1929 -  January 2, 2025

George Tataris, 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, Ontario. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen.

As the patriarch of our family, George leaves behind a legacy of love and strength. He will be deeply missed by his children, Grace (Henry) and Sylvia (James); grandchildren Helena (Sean), Anthony (Dragana), and George; great-grandchildren James, Alexia, Nicholas, and Sophia; and step great-grandchildren Claira and Cameron.

George lived life on his own terms, driven by unwavering determination and independence. He arrived in Canada in 1955 with little more than resolve and dreams of a better life. Soon after, he met Helen, the love of his life, and together they built a family that stands as a testament to their enduring union.

Throughout his career as an Aircraft Inspector, George ensured the safety of various aircraft components, leaving a lasting impact on his industry and colleagues. His journey from a 26-year-old immigrant to a successful professional and family man exemplifies the strength and perseverance that defined his character.

George's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, serving as a reminder of the power of determination and the importance of family. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire generations to come.

So sad for George’s passing. He was a solid man of respectable ideals. Now he will join his beloved Helen in heaven.

George was a neighbourhood fixture for me as a kid growing up in Meadowvale. He was always kind to us kids and always helpful to my parents. He drove a massive shiny car that I thought was the coolest thing ever. In recent years it was a comfort to know he was still there in the neighbourhood. He will be deeply missed by me and my family.
