In memory of

George Petropoulos

November 1, 1937 -  May 10, 2020

George Petropoulos, beloved husband to Frances of over 60 years, precious father to Demetra, Jimmy, and Konstantina, and adored beyond measure Pappou to Susie (Al), Frances, Alexander, James, Francesca, Lauren, Rachel and Georgaki and great-grandfather and the other Pappou to Kai, Olivia and Aria. Amazing father in law to Kiriakos, Claudette and Salvatore. Dearest son predeceased by his parents Dimitrios and Andriana and dear brother to Tom and brother in law to Nikki and Maria. Predeceased by his older siblings, Theoni, Panagiota, Kaliroi, Akrivi, and Sam. George had many nieces and nephews, god-children, family, friends including all the original Harry’s gang and especially his hunting buddies who have always been a big part of his life and meant a lot to him.

George was born in Greece in 1937, immigrated to Canada in 1957 and married the love of his life Frances in 1960. He suffered with COPD and fought valiantly but lost his battle on Sunday, May 10th. George has now gained his angel wings and will be watching over us all from heaven as he did while here on earth. He was loved so much by so many and will be greatly missed. His big and generous heart, fiery and larger than life spirit will never be forgotten.

A celebration of life will be forthcoming when restrictions have been lifted and details will be shared then.

Theio was a huge part of our lives growing up. I’ll never forget the car rides, trips to the CNE, buying us ice cream, and picnics. When I lost my dad I was devastated but took comfort knowing that a part of my dad was still with me and was with me for 22 more years. He took care of my mom after my dad’s passing and always remained a part of our lives. If my mom understood she would be devastated at this loss. To my family, take comfort in knowing he will always be in your hearts. Time will heal this wound but Theio will NEVER be forgotten. Going to Deer Run will never be the same. May God give you strength for the days ahead. May God rest his soul. R.I.P. Theio. We love you!

Dear Thea Φανή, Jim, Toula, Kostantina and family,

It is with a very heavy heart that we received the news of Theo George's passing. We offer our deepest and most heartfelt condolences on your loss.

Theo George was the prototypical Greek immigrant; hard working, self sufficient, caring, an upstanding member of the community but above all else, dedicated to his family. We will never forget the years on Hiawatha and the occasional trip out to -- what is now an institution -- Harry's for a burger and fries!

Ζωή σε σας και αιωνίως του η μνήμη ... καλή ανάπαυση και καλώ παράδεισο Θείο!
