In memory of

George (Djoka) Kuzeljevich

July 10, 1930 -  November 17, 2022

Born in Belgrade, Serbia on July 10, 1930.
Passed away November 17, 2022 in Etobicoke, Ontario from Covid complications.

Beloved husband of Catherine (Cantelon). Cherished father of Julia and Harold (1975-1981).
“Deda” will be missed by his three grandchildren Nina, Francesco and Leonardo Marrello and by their father Joseph.

He is survived by his sister Melanija, nieces Bojana and Milica and their families in Serbia and by his dear friends Slade and Jasna Stambolich of Etobicoke.

George immigrated to Canada in 1965. He worked his entire career as a pharmacist and in his retirement, enjoyed travelling, spending time puttering at the cottage on his tractor, and cooking for his grandkids.

He was fiercely independent and feisty to the end, and we are grateful for his long life.

The family wishes to thank Toronto Fire and Paramedic Services and the Emergency staff of Etobicoke General for their prompt attention and good care.

I miss him he was always with me in my childhood and remember the best souvenirs at that time. He strongly marked my chilhood and was with me all my life even if we leaved far away. But distance sometimes does not mean anything. It is the heart.

Independent, outspoken and self-opinionated without reservation.
Very selective with his choice of friends. Very helpful and down to earth person..

When Joe Kapler arrived in Canada from Switzerland in the Spring of 1966 without a place to stay, his only casual acquaintance was Slade Stambolich. At his arrival in Toronto, Slade and his best friend George – whom Joe did not know – welcomed him warmly at the airport. How generous of George to invite him to stay at his place until Joe got a place of his own! We all became friends and at our wedding, George was one of 5 of our tiny wedding party. He entertained us during dinner at the restaurant at length with facts about the sex life of fleas, still bringing a smile to our faces today.
