In memory of

George Mikaric

June 24, 1969 -  April 10, 2021

With a heavy heart, we announce the sudden passing of George Peter Mikaric on April 10, 2021 at the young age of 51. George is survived by his beloved wife Annie and loving son Anthony.

George was a very colourful character, who made it his mission to fulfil an act of kindness towards others. He took great pride in his employment as a crane operator for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 793 and a Teamster for Local 230. He had many friends from his childhood in Scarborough and quickly made friends when he settled down with his family in Harwood. He was described by many as a man with a good heart. During his younger years up until his tragic crane accident he was very active and was passionate about hockey and various outdoor sports. He was very close with his father who instilled in him a great love for nature.

He will be dearly missed by his mother Anka Mikaric, his brother John, nephew Stevie, Aunt Ivanka, cousins, many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday April 21 at 9:00am - 10:00am followed by the Funeral service at 10:00am - 11:00am.
Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions in place, attendance is by invitation only.
Live streaming will be available to view on this page Wednesday at 9:00am - 11:00am.

I can write a great deal about Annie Fortin, George’s surviving wife. She was an exemplary wife and mother
