In Loving Memory of George (Ivan) Russell
Peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Glen Rouge Community at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Gloria for many years. Loving father of Patrice, Michelle, Andrea, Jackie and Michael. Grandfather of Adam, Alicia, Jacob, Joshua, Kathryn, Maleek, Faith, great-grandfather of Josiah. George will be missed by all. Those who knew George will forever remember him for his love of tinkering with cars, words of wisdom, and his love of baking and juicing. George’s family would like to thank the staff at Glen Rouge Community for all their excellent care and compassion, especially in the last few months he was with us. We do not mourn the loss of George but celebrate the rich and beautiful life he shared with us. His memory will be a guiding light, a source of comfort, and a reminder of the power of love to bind us across generations. Friends may join the family at THORNTON CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off Dryden Blvd,905-579-6787) on Monday August 18th for visitation from 12 noon until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 1:00 pm. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their support and condolences during this time.
