Sorry for your loss from Mauro Veroni Ian was a friend of mine from late 1970's or early 1980's. We went to school together at Sir William Osler on Huntingwood Dr. He will be missed by me. My family says Sorry for your loss also.
Your Friend,
MAURO VERONI
Our families have been friends all of our lives. You were my camping buddy from the time we were toddlers playing in fire pits to young adults. You will truly be missed.
Condolences to the Palmer and Peters families. Thinking of you during this time.
Ian served on our board of directors for many years, and everyone who knew him grew to admire him greatly. Ian was an ardent supporter of community legal clinics and our clinic in particular. He never let his muscular dystrophy stop him from participating fully in society, and I would often see him motoring through the neighbourhood or along the beach, talking with people and smiling. It was wonderful that we were able to see him as he rocked on at our street party on June 20th. Ian lived life fully to the end.
Ian brought an important perspective to our board, seeing the world through the eyes of someone who had to fight for respect and self-empowerment. An example of his many contributions to our clinic was his insistence that we change our logo to reflect more of society. That is why there is a person in a wheelchair now on the logo. He also insisted we use double sided printing with our documents to save the environment. To the end he insisted in managing his own care team and finances when others were pushing him to move into a care home. Ian will be greatly missed.
