The family of George Iwasiw announces with sadness his passing on November 14, 2021, in his 75th year. He is survived by his wife Sandra, his sister Carroll (Nur), and his brother James; he is pre-deceased by his brother Joseph. George will be missed by his family, many friends & his associates especially his two adopted daughters (Samantha & Sabrina Janes & his nephew Beau Mitchell (U.S.A.). In life, George was devoted to his wife of 48 years, Sandra. He was proud to be a Professional Engineer & co-founding partner of Leeswood Design Build/Inc. He worked at Inducon for 19 years and Leeswood for almost 20 years. In his leisure time, George enjoyed traveling around the world and taking day trips into the countryside. He enjoyed the theatre (musicals), curling, lawn bowling, puttering in the garden, and taking long walks around his neighborhood. He loved socializing and keeping in touch with many good friends. He was also an active patron of many charities over the years. Friends are welcome to gather at ELGIN MILLS FUNERAL CENTRE, 1591 Elgin Mills Road East, Richmond Hill on Thursday, November 18, 2021, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. & on Friday, November 19, 2021, from 9:00-10:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow. Proof of vaccination & ID is required for all attendees ages 12 & older. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
