In memory of

George Caragiannis

January 4, 1943 -  January 20, 2022

George Caragiannis passed away peacefully at home on January 20, 2022. He leaves behind his devoted wife Freda, three doting daughters Christina (Neil), Sophia (Kevin) and Dimitra (Dan) and two dedicated grandsons Evan and Christopher.

George came to Canada from Argos Orestikon, Greece at the young age of 17. He worked incredibly hard and was considered to be a Jack of all Trades. There was never anything he could not fix or build. He was the first person to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He could paint your house, fix absolutely everything and anything, build a deck and anything else you could imagine.

He was a devoted friend, son, brother, father and grandfather that always made sure that his family was well taken care of and wanted nothing more than to have everyone around him to be happy, joyful and full of love. He was the life of the party in every setting. He effortlessly made you laugh and cracked jokes at every opportunity. If you needed a good laugh, needed to feel better then George was there to make that happen.
He was the first person on the dance floor and made sure you followed suit. He was an unbelievably stylish and charismatic man who befriended everyone he met. He always loved being dressed up in dress pants and a dress shirt (the more colourful the better!) - You could not convince him to wear a pair of jeans! And his trademark mustache - he wore it well!

We are all so incredibly blessed to have had him in our lives and will continue to celebrate his life and the mark he left on all of us forever. He is now reunited in heaven with his mother, father and sister Eleni. May God bless him and keep him in eternal peace. Until we meet again.

There will be a viewing at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church on Friday January 28, 2022 from 9-10 am and a ceremony to follow from 10-11 am. George will then be laid to rest at Pine Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any Parkinson’s foundation or organization.

My Uncle George was a huge part of my childhood. He was the cool Uncle with the cool car. He was always there for us, we would wait for him to come to watch hockey on Saturday nights and he really encouraged us to play hockey. He would always bring us something to do with hockey. When I bought my house I had no idea how to fix it, but here came the greek family to help, and always George, if you asked he would be there. He was a kind man and would give you the shirt off his back. He will be dearly missed. Love you Uncle George.
Love John Likopulos and family.
