In memory of

George Albert Thomson

July 15, 1942 -  October 9, 2018

Thomson, George Albert (Proud driver of Miss Behave – Mercury Meteor ’49, Chapter 4 Blue Knights, Loblaws (29 years) Legion Branch 139)– It is with great sadness we announce the passing of George Thomson on Tuesday October 9, 2018 in Mississauga. Primarily as a result of being stubborn, not following doctor’s orders and just living life a little too hard for over seven decades - but what a ride it was. George was born on July 15, 1942 in Toronto. Predeceased by his parents Gladstone (Glad “Dempsey”) and Ethel Thomson (nee: Simpson), his wife Sharon (nee: Bussell), his brother Garry and his sister Lois (Lolo) Noble. George leaves behind a garage full of stuff that could never be thrown out because one day there might be a use for it, his children Carolyn (Mike Ferjo) and Michael (Dorota), and grandchildren Zachary, Joshua, Brooke and Avery. He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Bonnie (Harry) Tutin, Valerie Thomson and Suzi (Bill) Plunkett, his brother Ralph and his brother-in-law Jack Noble, and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. George loved being the centre of attention, making people laugh, and he will be remembered for his many jokes even if not always appropriate, and the fact that he had a story to tell about everything. A special thanks to Dr. Asha Gupta, Janany, Pauline and Farah for their exceptional care. Friends may call at MEADOWVALE CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 7732 Mavis Rd., Brampton (north of HWY 407 and south of Steeles Ave., 905-451-3716) on Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior. Private cremation to follow. In George’s memory, donations to the Credit Valley Hospital Palliative Care Unit or Heart House would be appreciated by the family. Please note George and Sharon’s change of address, St. Stephen’s Anglican Church Cemetery, 14946 Steeles Ave. E., Hornby, Ontario.

We've been expecting this news for years and yet now that it has happened I'm still blown away. For over 40 years George has been the life of the party. Every family occasion was liberally sprinkled with his jokes and stories - good and bad. We spent endless hours talking about motorcycles and he was never wtihout an anecdote. I've never seen him in a bad mood. Even when your mother was sick, he still made sure he entertained everyone. We will really miss him. Our heartfelt condolences to you all and I thank everyone that cared for him while he was sick. Goodbye George. You will always be fondly remembered. John & Diana
