In Loving Memory of Gary Van

Gary Van, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2024. Gary leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family. He was 80 years old.

Gary was born on November 25, 1943 in London, Ontario. He was a man of integrity, known for his strong work ethic and commitment to those he cherished. Gary's journey led him to meet the love of his life, Maria Van, with whom he shared a bond that was truly remarkable.

Gary and Maria's love story was one of devotion and partnership. Together, they navigated life's joys and challenges with grace and resilience. Gary was a pillar of strength for his family, always putting their needs above his own and instilling in them the values of compassion, perseverance, and generosity.

As a father to Jason, Andrew, Pamela and Angela, Gary was deeply involved in the lives of his children, offering guidance, support, and unconditional love every step of the way. He took immense pride in their accomplishments and cherished every moment spent together as a family. Gary's legacy of love and wisdom will continue to guide his children as they navigate their own paths in life.

In addition to being a devoted husband and father, Gary was a cherished brother to Bill and grandfather to Kyla, Jessica, Lily, Mia, Vivienne, Josephine and Nathan. He cherished the role of grandfather, delighting in the laughter and innocence of his grandchildren. Gary's bond with each grandchild was special and unique, and his love for them knew no bounds. He was also great-grandfather to Theo and Toby.

Outside of his family, Gary was known for his warm smile, gentle demeanor, and willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need. He touched the lives of all who knew him, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of many.

Though Gary may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will live on in the cherished memories and profound impact he made on the lives of his loved ones and community. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of Gary's life will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Canadian Cancer Society, The Canadian Liver Foundation or the Toronto Humane Society, in honor of Gary's memory.

As we mourn the loss of Gary, let us also celebrate the incredible life he lived and the love he shared with all who knew him. May he rest in peace, knowing that he was dearly loved and will never be forgotten.

Thank you,

The Van Family
