In memory of

Gary Clark Oruck

November 24, 1951 -  November 4, 2024

After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, Gary died peacefully on 4 November 2024, surrounded by the love of his family.

Gary will be forever cherished and missed by his wife Janice, children Paul (Karlynn) and Kira (Hitansh). He was a proud and devoted grandfather to his dear granddaughter, Audrey.

Gary was born in Winnipeg, the only son of the late Peter and Jean Oruck. He attended River East Collegiate and the University of Manitoba, where he graduated with a degree in Economics.

In addition to his family, Gary’s passions in life were fishing, the LA Dodgers, and the Minnesota Vikings. Gary is also remembered as a lifelong lover of nature and animals, classic rock enthusiast, a talented oil painter, duck decoy carver, and human buddy to his cat Harry and dog Pepper.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A reception in Gary’s honour will be held at The Simple Alternative Funeral Home, 1535 South Gateway Road, on Sunday 10 November between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful Mississauga Care Partners and the Credit Valley Palliative Care Teams for their commitment to Gary’s care.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Trillium Health Partners or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Good bye Gary, our friend and neighbor for the last 21 years.
You were a great conversationalist ! We share the same academic profiles and had some great meaningful conversations on a wide array of topics including and specific on everyday happenings. A vivid recount on one of our conversations was the state of the retail Industry in Canada vs the USA and the free market of the USA vs the Oligopoly of Canada. These conversations were on our respective patio's overlooking each other, or on the driveway. It will be missed going forward.
We pray to the Lord to grant Jan, Paul, Kiera and their partners the strength and endurance as they move forward without him.
