In memory of

Grace Chen 陈刚

April 20, 1970 -  June 3, 2021

It is with great sadness that Grace Chen’s family announces her passing on June 3rd, 2021 at the age of 51. Grace will be forever loved and missed by her husband, daughter, parents, older brother, and all other family and friends.

Grace Chen was born on April 20th, 1970 in Shanghai, China. She was the younger of two children and grew up in a loving family where she was brought up to be a strong and independent young lady.

Grace met her future husband Ivan Yuan and they were married on February 10th, 1996. Two years later, she gave birth to their only daughter, Victoria Yuan.

On September 28th, 1999, Grace and Ivan, together with Victoria immigrated to Canada. Throughout the years, they explored the world together as avid travellers and enjoyed many happy memories as a family.

Our family is honoured that you will join us in celebrating Grace’s life on June 12, 2021. Please feel free to sign the guest book and add any life stories that you want to share with everyone on this website.

To pay a lasting tribute to Grace and her charitable spirit, our family kindly asks that you support the Canadian Cancer Society via our fundraiser for Grace in lieu of flowers: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/pages/grace-gang-chen-memorial-fundraiser/. The Canadian Cancer Society will use this money to fund cancer research and support those living with the disease. Thank you so much for contributing towards this great cause that is close to our hearts.

Dear Ivan, Victoria and Family,

My thoughts and prayers are you with during this difficult time. Grace was an exceptional person and I was lucky enough to work with her. She was a true gem and I will always value the time and friendship she showed me. Grace would often share stories of Victoria with me especially while I was pregnant with my daughter 7 yrs ago. It was her way of sharing her life tips as a mother and I will always remember them. I will miss her dearly and may her soul rest in peace.

My mom has taught me so many priceless lessons throughout the 22 years that we were fortunate enough to share. I will forever be grateful that she was always the first one to warmly encourage me during any hardships and difficult moments. I learned how to bounce back from failures and always face life with a positive mindset. Thank you Mommy!
