In memory of

Gail Brown Sleeman

August 31, 1940 -  August 24, 2024

Gail Estelle Brown Sleeman, in the morning hours of Saturday August 24th 2024 passed away just seven days shy of her 84th birthday in her suite at the Kensington Gardens LTC.

Gail was a daughter to Vivian and Claude Brown. Beloved sister to brother Philip Brown. Mother to Kent Sleeman (Anne-Marie). Grandmother to Mitchell Sleeman.

Special, heartfelt thanks goes to the staff at Kensington Gardens who made Gail's convalescence and recovery so productive.
Their care and concern cannot go unrecognized.

Very close friends Pia Kleber and Sue Groom as well as brother Philip were Gail's constant advocates and champions during her
post-stroke time.

It could be said that nobody combined more travel, high end art appreciation, time with friends and haute cuisine into post retirement
than Gail. She was very well versed in all aspects of a finer experience. Gail was never afraid of a different form of environment through exciting travel.

When at home, Gail loved to walk when weather permitted on her own or with friends and immensely enjoyed the nature that a short cut walk through Mount Pleasant provided. Fitting that these are the grounds that she chooses to rest upon eternally.

A full life lived.

Its been a long journey Gail but I hope you have found a peaceful resting place. You always excelled at your chosen careers, whether as an emergency operating room nurse or as an investment professional - where you and I met. Your passion for reading books and particularly newspapers was insatiable. You had already read the NYT, FT and WSJ before most of us had our first coffee of the day. You loved to walk every day and especially enjoyed discovering new (to you) neighbour-hoods in your Toronto. It was so much fun to join you on some of these journeys. We often met for long lunches at the Gallery Grill - we got there early and left late - killed a bottle of Pinot Grigio and had ever so stimulating conversations. You were smart to retire young and embark upon extensive world travels. A continuing love of London took you back there often. Thank you for letting me join you there from time to time. We took many trips to Italy together and also went to Germany and Spain. Naples, Florida was fun too. You had an amazing capacity for a variety of languages. This courtesy of addressing people in their own language served you so well in your travels - and of course I benefited too. With so many good memories - you made my life all the richer. I will never forget you. Sue.
