In memory of

Fredrick Quinless

June 9, 1940 -  October 19, 2021

Fredrick Quinless passed away on October 19th, 2021 at the age of 81.

Fredrick was born on June 9th, 1940 in Mumbai, India to Patrick and Monica Quinless. He migrated to England in his teens, and went to work for Rolls Royce as a mechanic. In his 20’s, he immigrated to Canada, and assisted with bringing family over from India.

Working for nearly 35 years as a Millwright at Consumers Glass, Fredrick had a dedicated work ethic which he maintained throughout his entire life. After retirement, he worked at Home Depot for over 11 years, assisting the local community the best way he knew how – with a bright and cheerful spirit day in and day out.

In 2018, Fredrick was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, which is a terminal lung disease. Throughout his entire battle with this horrible disease, he taught his family that how you live your life is more important than simply living your life. Grit and determination are characteristics which are much larger than a frailing body. He was an inspiration throughout his battle, even with all odds stacked against him.

Fondly remembered by his loving wife, Magdalen, and children Ryan and Brendan Quinless - Fredrick was a true gentleman who earned the respect of the community he worked in and helped to grow. He was a loving and giving husband and father who never asked for much in return.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family would appreciate a donation be made to Canadian Food for Children (Dr. Andrew & Joan Simone) – a charity that is close to the hearts of Fredrick and Magdalen.

Alan Taylor-Baptiste (Comedic relief)

Entered October 22, 2021 from Mississauga

“Dick” was a family friend to my family since we first arrived in Canada in 1968.
A gentle person & a gentleman always.
We spoke openly & honestly, even when we disagreed.
He enjoyed my crazy voices & I enjoyed hearing him laugh, even when I mocked Trump.
I hope he’s living large in the afterlife.
