In memory of

Frederick George Beal

October 22, 1940 -  October 27, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of Frederick George Beal announces his passing on October 27, 2021 at the age of 81.

Fred passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones in Toronto and will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Gail, his daughter Wendy, his son Roger, his sister Mary, his nieces Lisa and Laura, and his three grandchildren, Liam, Emily and Andrew.

Fred was a teacher with the Toronto Board of Education for 34 years. An avid Jays fan, he preferred to follow them on the radio. This way he could continue to fix cars (his or his neighbours’) or work on his radio controlled airplanes while still enjoying the game. Many will remember Fred accompanying campfire singalongs and manning the barbecue at Tay-Kit-Eze, the family cottage on Lake Simcoe.

Heartfelt gratitude to the Special Care Unit at Cummer Lodge and especially to Marcelina, Maureen, Kate and Liz for their loving care.

In leu of flowers donations can be made to the War Amps of Canada.

I have many happy memories of the times we all spent together at the cottage. Fred was always ready to lend a hand, and I remember his cheerful manner and caring ways. Gail I hope you and your family can soon focus on the good times you had with Fred as I know there were many.

With my sincere condolences,
Linda

First met Fred and Gail way back in 1972. They stayed at our fledgling small Hotel ‘The Craigleigh’ Fred was on a teacher exchange plan for 2 years. We became friends and Fred helped Bill… my late husband…. To paint and decorate in his spare time. Gail introduced me to Brass Rubbing. I visited them on my way over to Vancouver in 1988 and their hospitality was just wonderful.
Gail, Roger, Wendy and your families. I am so very sorry for the loss of Fred. You have so many beautiful memories of your life together which will sustain and help you all.
Sending you love and light in the coming weeks and always.
