Freda Graham
February 2, 1934 – June 13, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Freda (Aphrodite) Graham at the age of 91, surrounded by her loving family.
Freda was the devoted wife of the late Fred Graham, with whom she shared 67 years of love, partnership, and adventure. She was the cherished daughter of the late George Sapuntjis and Thomais Grouios, and lovingly embraced by her second mother, Fanni Sapuntjis. Freda was the beloved older sister of the late Paul and Betty.
Family was at the center of Freda’s world. She was a proud and loving mother to Byron (Christina), Robert (Karen), and Craig (Joanne), and a deeply cherished “YiaYia” to her grandchildren Andrea (Collin), Alex, Athan, Sarah, Theo, and David.
Freda lived an extraordinary life marked by devotion, community, and a passion for music. A woman of deep faith, she and Fred were instrumental in the founding and growth of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church. She sang in the choir, played the organ, and was an active member of the Philoptochos Society. She also contributed to the Family Council at the Hellenic Home for the Aged, where she spent her final years with grace and dignity.
Born and raised in Toronto, Freda attended Loretto Abbey, where her appreciation and love for music first flourished. A respected piano teacher in the Lansing community, she inspired countless children to discover, pursue and enjoy music.
Tea Lake held a very special place in Freda’s heart. It was the backdrop where decades of family memories were created, which included regattas, excursions, the joyful sounds of her grandchildren, and quiet moments with loved ones.
Freda will be remembered for her laughter, wit, kindness, strength, and unwavering love. Her warmth and generosity touched all who knew her, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
We would like to extend our special thanks to the wonderful caregivers at the Hellenic Home for their unwavering support and love for our mother.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 20, from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Rd., Toronto. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 21, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church (416) 221-4611, or The Hellenic Home for the Aged. https://hellenichome.org/online-donation/

Dear Craig, Bobby, Christina and family,

Bruce and I send our deepest condolences to your family. Your mother (and father) were wonderful neighbours and were part of the fabric of the neighbourhood that made it such a great place to live. They were both loving, warm and welcoming to so many people.
We always enjoyed the many stories of their lives, families, work and of course, the cottage!

For over 45 years we have had the privilege and pleasure of interacting with Freda and her family. Freda was a most wonderful friend! She had spunk, tenacity, wit, smarts, compassion and the biggest of hearts.
Her sense of humour was unmatched and her hearty laugh always lifted the spirits of those around.
To say that Freda was the backbone of the Graham family would be an understatement. She was truly one in a million. We will miss her terribly but we have such wonderful memories to cherish.
Spread your wings Freda and soar with the angels, Fred and Byron.

Dear Craig and family -
In these moments, when there are no words, know that the ones we love remain beside us always. It is the memories that keep our loved ones alive in our hearts.
God Bless,
