It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother/grandmother, Freda Dean, who peacefully left us on August 21st, 2023 at 86 years old. She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories that will forever live in the hearts of her family.

Freda was born on July 18, 1937, in the town of Barrowford, Lancashire, England. She grew up in the embrace of a loving family and formed strong bonds with her siblings and the community around her. Her early years were filled with laughter, adventure, and a zest for life that would define her journey.

In May of 1970, Freda embarked on a new chapter of her life when she emigrated from England to make a home in Toronto, Canada. She brought with her not only her belongings but also the love and resilience that would shape her family's future. Her journey to Canada was a testament to her unwavering commitment to providing a better life for her two daughters, Elizabeth and Jill, who meant the world to her.

Freda was not only a dedicated mother but also an adoring mother-in-law to Joe and Mike, as well as a loving grandmother to her five grandchildren; Nicholas, Daniela, Robert, Ashleigh, Holly and granddaughter-in-law Michelle. She cherished each of them, imparting wisdom, sharing stories, and nurturing their dreams.

Throughout her life, Freda displayed a remarkable strength of character and an enduring love for her family. Her resilience in the face of challenges and her unwavering dedication to her loved ones will forever serve as an inspiration to her family.

Freda will be fondly remembered for her delicious homemade meals; trifle and rice pudding topping the list, her comforting hugs, and the endless stories she shared. Her presence in our lives was a blessing, and her memory will continue to bring us comfort and solace in the days to come.

A celebration of Freda’s life will take place on Saturday September 30th from 12-2pm at Pine Hills Cemetery. Freda will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May she rest in eternal peace.
