In memory of

Fred Neitzert

February 6, 1930 -  December 29, 2021

Our dear father and grandfather Fred Neitzert passed away peacefully on December 29, 2021, after bravely battling glioblastoma. His last days had been spent surrounded by family, friends and love. Fred was a cherished husband to Gisela (deceased); a loving father and father-in-law to Frank (Martha), Monica (Donovan), Robert (deceased), Christina (Martin), and Tanya (James). He was a beloved grandfather to Daniel, Ehren, Oliver, Charlotte, Rachel, Mia, Nicholas and Chloé. His family, as well as many friends and neighbours, will deeply miss him.

Fred was a hardworking business owner whose love of life, kindness, generosity, integrity and work ethic inspired all who knew him. An accomplished craftsman, he built his first home and three cottages by hand. With his endless energy, he supported friends, family, neighbours, and his church with building projects of all sizes and scope to his very last days.

He will be deeply missed for his strength, enthusiasm, determination, story-telling, “hollow leg”, work ethic, kindness, and unconditional circle of love for his many friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to brain cancer research or the Thornhill Lutheran Church--see the links below.

Fred’s earthly journey is over. Fred’s amazing energy surpassed Dave’s who was years younger than him evident in some of the projects they worked on at the cottage. Fred will be sadly missed as was Gisela and fondly remembered for his loyalty, strength and humour.

He was kind and always had a smile on the face.

Fred Nietzert - A humble respectful man I have come to know, so full of energy and life. An awesome partner in TT. I truly admire his determination and competitiveness he puts in all his game.

It's a humbling experience knowing him. He certainly left me with great fond memories of the TT games we played and sharing with me stories of his younger days.

Great Man 👍
