It is with tremendous sadness the Wong family announces the passing of Franklin on Thursday February 8, 2018 at the age of 71.
Franklin was loved and will be greatly missed by his wife Lily; his children Alvin and Anita (Marco); his stepsons Kevin and Alan (Evan); his grandson Brandon and step-grandson Cyrus; and his goddaughter Kitty.
Franklin will be dearly missed by his siblings Vincent (Lily), Ken (Viola), Stanley (Alice), Janet (Juri), David and Amy (Manny).
He will also be missed by his Uncle Ken (Lin) and his cousins Elaine (Allen), Allan (Lisa); his nieces Luaine (Bill), Rani (Marty), Anna (Victor) and Sonya; his nephews Richard (Chanh), Bryan (Amy), Alfred (Julie), Paul, Peter and Daniel; and by his many dear friends.
Franklin graduated from York University and started his career at IBM Canada. He later founded the Canadian Information Technology College which helped to launch the careers of a new generation of technology students. He loved to fish and enjoyed dancing with his wife Lily and their friends.
Franklin’s strength was an inspiration for all who knew him even as he fought to recover from acute pancreatitis. The family wishes to thank all those who cared for him. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses in the ICU at Mount Sinai and the MSICU at Toronto General for their compassionate care.
